My Type of Movie Thank God I Watched it This Weekend: LAWLESS ~ #2 Movie Watched This Weekend

Wohoo! So happy this movie turned out to be exactly like I hoped for: ENJOYABLE!

  • The actors were good: Shia LeBouf to Tom Hardy. Love them all Kudos to Tom Hardy for missing his British and to Shia for his good acting (I melted instantly when looking at Tom.. So hot!!!!)
  • Setting: old american setting, nice
  • Storyline: I couldnt comprehend the story on some points. Nevertheless, I still enjoy the movie :D

Anna Karenina, was it love or was it loveless passion? ~ #1 Movie Watched This Weekend

I remember I heard the novel titled the same back to elementary school without knowing what the novel was about. Well back then I didn’t read novels, all I read was piles of Doraemon and Sailor Moon (read both the black and white and colored edition, teeheehee).

Because the movie uses the novel as its sole source and I did not read the novel, I had no expectation towards the movie which I think it’s good because some people I know would compare +/- 2 hrs movie with a book consists of hundreds of pages. Well that is a lot of work to do for the scriptwriter.

This movie was rather interesting enough and I think I have never seen a movie like this. How can I put this.. How the producer created the set Moscow vs. outside Moscow using indoor set was very interesting yet a bit confusing at first.

And the costumes, well I have always loved movies that set back to 1700s to 1800s with big gowns and extraordinary hair pieces. The black hair pieces/hat worn by Keira Nightley when attending Dolly’s ball in St. Petersburg looked lovely to me. And her black gown was mesmerizing. While with Vronsky, his all-time-white suit matched his persona sparked from his blonde hair quite well.

The story line? I could not give my comments on the story line as I have not read the novel yet. But what I know for sure is that I pity Karenin and his big heart, I dislike Anna for betraying Karenin and for falling for the wrong guy (your problem was your husband shared his feeling and his attention in a rather less romantic way, that was all I think!), and I dislike Vronsky because he kept on teasing loveless Anna! hiks.. If only Anna had held her patience living with Karenin and his less romantic trait, she would not have to deal with some issues in this movie! (but that will make this movie, even the novel did not exist, hehehe). I did not really enjoy this movie just because it turned out to be not my type of movie. My type would be ones belong to Jane Austen’s, or movies about Jane herself (such as Becoming Jane). Quick fact about me: I CANNOT enjoy movies that show too much skin, if you know what I mean. It’s just, ugghh, please! I want to watch movies, enjoy the storyline, the music, the acts.  Now, I can’t enjoy the movie at all!!!

What I learn from this movie is that passion and love are two different thing. If it is passion, it’s fake. Because passion is dangerous and it’s like a drug that spreads fast with no antidote. It gets you high and keeps you away from rationality. When your feet touch the ground, you will want a piece of that drug once more, but eventually you will run out of this drug. (Vronsky) While love is real. It’s like oxygen. You may cannot see it, but it’s there. And you will never run out of it. That’s love. (Karenin)

Maybe what’s best is passionate love. But hey people, you ask too much and forget of being grateful for what you’ve got!

OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS SUPER CUTE LITTLE THING??!!! GOING TO BUY IT FOR SURE!

If you lived in the 90s, I’m pretty sure you’ll recognize a manga named ROSE OF VERSAILLES (or maybe with the original name: LA ROSE VERSAILLES ANTOINETTE). Love it or hate it, this manga series was VERY popular back in the 90s. I wasn’t a fan back then because what I read was Doraemon and all manga labelled “Serial Cantik” with no more than three books for each title.

So, a Japanese make up brand “Creer Beauty” launched this line back in 2011 and how did this one pass me? Because back then I wasn’t interested in make up at all. Looking through reviews on this product, I believe most sites think this eyeliner is a keep. Therefore, I am buying it when I run out of Lioele e/l :D

A package just erased my don’t-know-what-to-do Saturday, yeay!

On late afternoon, I saw a package addressed to me, wrapped in pink LV patterned plastic bag (I wonder if LVMH will ever create a plastic bag, hihi). And there I was, extremely excited because they were necklaces I ordered from a friend I just met at last weekend’s bazaar (oops I forgot to write on last weekend’s bazaar. Later aye?).

A bit about the seller.. Her name is Ceria Anggraeni and I think everyone calls her “Ceria”. Such an adorable nickname don’t you think? Her looks were as cute as her name. With round glasses just like Harry Potter’s, Ceria is a cool girl and that type of young people around my age who are into art stuffs. Ceria makes everything by herself including overly popular collar necklaces. Cool isn’t it, mate? But what attracted me most was her knitted necklaces and these were in the package that came today.

I ordered two necklaces: sunflower necklaces (Rp 45k) and sakura necklaces (Rp 45k). I know that my obsession to shopping was the reason I participated in a bazaar but hold on.. I am buried by clothes, not accessories (Okay, right now I’m imagining my boyfriend shaking his head.. sorry bibiy).

What do I think about the necklaces? They are adorable! They almost resemble flowers portraited by comic books, especially the sakura one. Love them both!

With adorable products & a great, down-to-Earth seller as Ceria, I am a happy customer & will be back for more order!

If I’m offered these two for free, I’ll opt for T.O.P! xD

Recent Purchase: Welcoming New Family Member to My Beauty Routine

(06/04/2012)

So happy to see bunch of packages for me waiting to be revealed, hehe. Let me introduce from the very left:

Lioele Eye Liner in Smoky Black

Tested today, this e/l would be the first e/l I have in balmy texture. Today’s activities involved both inside and outside activities but the e/l didn’t smudge at all. With a minimum amount of application, I was allowed to achieve rather deep and matte finish. Nice! Oh, also comes in cute packaging :)

Sephora Daily Make Up Brush Cleaner

I haven’t tested it yet but it is rated 3.6/5 on MUA. What I can say about this now is:

- very convenient packaging, small enough to fit make up pouch when travelling

- seems user friendly according to instruction written on the bottle “Spray cleaner over all the bristles of the brush.. Let the brush air dry, no need to rinse”

Kokuryudo Hipitch Deep Cleansing Oil

Bought because KOSE Softymo White, the original cleansing oil I wanted to buy, was sold out. Was urged to get a cleansing oil, I was offered this one. Review on Sasa was okay but I was still skeptical because this wasn’t the one I wanted. Tried yesterday to clean my make up. What I can say until now:

- citrus smelled, refreshing, but doesn’t sting

- only need one pump for each application. I used about 3 pumps yesterday and it took me some time to clean my face because I had to rinse my face several times to get rid of the soap. Blah!

- doesn’t give drying effect which is cool for normal-dry skinned like me

I like how my skin feels after using this product and hopefully my skin won’t break out :)

Ciao!

Make Up Revieww: SEPHORA Mineral Loose Powder Foundation

No parabens, no talc, no fragrance. Not that I really care because I’m new to make up. But this “Mineral” word somehow assures me that my face is going to be okay when applying it. So here is my review:

I received mine some months ago but have not used it till +/- last February because at that time I still had my L’Oreal True Match Minerals in N1. People rave about this loose powder foundation so when Sephora was on sale in November (I guess, can’t remember it) I decided to buy one at about 80,000 Indonesian Rupiahs. Yes you read it right, about 80,000.

Then came the day when I opened the package for the first time. From first application, I HAVE BEEN LOVIINGG IT! Coverage is adjustable. What I mean by “adjustable” is that: for daily wear, I apply once and coverage is okay while when I go to wedding reception and double the application then coverage is even better. It covers my acne without me applying any concealer yet. Wawawawawa!

What I am afraid now is that is has been discontinued, ggrrrr. Need luck to find its replacement from now then :3

Oh, one thing! People gave this product 4.5 out of 5 on MUA (http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=132967/Mineral_Loose_Powder_Foundation/Sephora_/Powder

Thanks for reading! :)

MY FIRST HAIR DRYER! YEAYY!
My precious boyfriend bought me this “Travel Diva” travel hair dryer three days ago when he went downtown Brisbane. I guess he rarely goes to this place called DFO because the last time he went there he let me know and it was early this year. I don’t know, just my wild guess. He asked me if I wanted clothes just like before but I pity my room, too many clothes stuffed in it. I have been looking for a travel hair dryer because I saw my friend, Laras, brought this travel hair dryer when we went to the Netherlands (together with Zanty) in 2009 which I found it amazing. It’s foldable, veerryyy light, and it had this ionic power that serves as anti-frizz and non drying. WOWOWOWOW! Laras told me that her aunt in Japan had given that to her so I 1000% assumed that it was bought in Japan (d’oh so lucky o u corsi!!).
Anyhow, I immediately asked my boyfriend to find me a travel hair dryer and he got me this. LOVE the name! “Travel Diva”.. People say “names mean prayer” so I hope I’ll become a diva in travel (how? Don’t ask. Haven’t figured it out yet). Poor my bibiy, I asked him whether there was travel hair dryer with ion and with bold colors such as pink or leopard skinned. Haha, I remember it clearly when I said to him, “Besides this black coloured, does it come in other colors? Bold pink? Leopard skin?”. His only respond was “HAH? hehe” in doubtful/embarrassed laugh.. Kyaaaa my bibiy is totally utterly KYUUTO! Poor him *cubit pipi gembul bibiy*
DANKE WELL! THANK YOU! NUHUN PISAN! ARIGATOU GOZAIMASHITA, ANATA!

So I guess this will be my first make up review since I’m not a make up junkie. Nevertheless I dare myself to write this one because I’m a sucker for lip gloss. On the front part was my previous lip gloss from Smashbox (http://www.smashbox.com/). Smashbox offers a variety of colors but I decided to choose “Lovely” as I was looking for a soft pink one. To me, this lip gloss was okay. I like the subtle scent it offers but I am not a fan of its consistency. To me, it’s too thick and I have had hard times to put it on my lips without making me look like I just ate dozens of fried banana. And I guess ‘Lovely” does not suit my skin tone. Still, I had to use it or it would be useless. Oh almost forgot! It’s long lasting though, couple of hours will do. I bought it for 75000 rupiahs.

At the back is my current lip gloss and I’m looovinggg it! It’s from Barry M, a UK cosmetic brand (http://www.barrym.com/) in “Bubble Gum”. Its scent reminds me of a childhood bubble gum which I forgot its name. But my sister also said the same! That it reminded her of that bubble gum. So I guess Barry M succeeded in replicating the scent ;) Some people do not like the scent, though. Besides its scent, I also like its consistency, just right. Doesn’t last long like Smashbox, but I forgive her since I like the scent and consisteny. I feel that this color suits my skin tone better because I find eye candy color really cute and luckily it suits me *pheww* Bought it for 75000 rupiahs as well.

To me, current winner is: Barry M. Yeaay!

Now I’d like to review..TV Series: My Girlfriend is Gumiho

Nyaah. I just finished watching 16 episodes K-Drama named My Girlfriend is Gumiho in three days! The story tells Cha Dae Wong, a university student who’s passionate on action movies. He’s working harder on his action movie training rather than at school. Born in a wealthy family, his parents were killed in an accident so his grandfather and aunt take care of him. Since he’s the only grandchild his grandfather has, Dae Wong grew to be dependent on his family’s wealth.

One day his grandfather sent him to a school located outside the city. Refuses, Dae Wong ran away from his family, “hitchiking” on a vegetables truck, then arrived at a small temple storing a story of Gumiho, a nine-tailed fox used to be the prettiest woman ever. Dae Wong accidently freed the Gumiho who later he named “Miho”. In return of freeing her who has been kept for 500 years, Miho sticks with Dae Wong wherever he goes. The story didn’t stop there, though :)

I love the storyline which I thought was amusing and different from other K-drama I’ve watched before. Dae Wong could be somebody else rather than Lee Seung Ki because I personally think he’s not that handsome. But for someone as pretty as Miho, Lee Seung Ki would be ok; just to keep the balance ;) Besides his look, he acted okay.

Oh! I also like the romance scenes which appeared to be in “ok” portion because I find “over romance scenes” would be a turn-off for me.

Overall: 7.5 of 10.0

*This post was written on a quick urge (the urge that came from myself nyahaha). And I enjoyyyed writing it :) *
I currently have a BIG CRUSH on korean boys, thanks to my sis. This quick collage is filled with four persons I like the most and they come from different groups haha. You think I sound like a middle school girl? Please feel free to think so. Honestly, I don’t give a damn, hihi.
Oh! And I try to look for this line that relates them and my ehm, boyfriend, and I think I know! I like POINTY NOSE AND BABYFACED FACE! GYAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. So here they are clock-wise: B2ST Yoseob, ex SUJU Kibum (my sis keeps saying that he looks like my bofriend *wohoo my bf looks like one of four korean guys*. I never thought so until I saw one picture that assured me. Later I’ll post the pic hihi), BIGBANG Taeyang(kyakya! Cute tough face), SUJU Siwon (always go ga-ga over him),SUJU Donghae.
